Let me write my first poem

Let me write a poem,
And get in the practice of doing,
Now that I am no more a school going,
Just that, I was shy of showing,
Let me write a poem!

Now that lots of people write,
In such creations, nothing is black and white,
But they still let their thoughts fight,
Because they do what they feel right,
So, let me write a poem!

We have got this gift of life,
It's not just to get a beautiful wife,
People do this to bring in some hype,
And give their creativity some dike,
So, let me write a poem!

I had always wanted to do this,
I am not going to copy her or his,
It has to be my own, even if a miss
This first poem is making my life bliss,
So, let me write a poem.

Greats have made a name through poems,
They use various sentences and idioms,
Some names are known in every homes,
While others are just anonymous,
Let me write a poem.

I still feel a naive,
But let me be some brave,
What I aspire, many young already have,
Because they had courage to take their part of dive
So, let me now write a poem.

I was having a good night's sleep
I was woken up by my mind racing deep,
Was telling me to make an achievement's heap,
So that I feel happy when I look back at what I have reap,
Let me write a poem,

This poem may sound gravely hollow,
And maybe nobody would like to follow,
For a first, my mind wanted me to allow,
Giving it a shape by letting my thoughts flow,
For this short life, I have always wanted to grow,
Death in tonight's dream gave my aspirations a blow,

I have realised that the time is now,
The time to hear from myself - A wow!
Yes I had to write, it doesn't matter how,
And It's the one way, I feel my self grow!
Let me come back to writing the poem,

Now that I have written something, it shall,
Boost me to go on without caring for a fall,
For this journey, tonight I give this a call,
I will cross every hurdle, bring down every wall,

As I wrap up my poem to go back to sleep,
I promise to let my dreams tide over every spring and neap,
I will lay over my past a beautiful wreath,
For this poem has showed me how to breath!!

Welcoming Pari to this world on December 30th, 2015

It was December 30th, 2015. A new year was waiting to welcome my beautiful niece!
My Didi was admitted to Ankur Clinic in Jammu. She was taken inside the operation theater for caesarean section. We stood outside praying to God for a successful 'case' as they call it. I was there with mummy, papa, jiju's mummy, his sister and his brother-in-law. Jiju wasn't able to join us due to his job duties in merchant navy and Bhaiya was in Pune for his job. Both of them were however in constant touch with us through mobile phones.

After waiting for around 15-20 minutes, we heard the angelic voice of a baby crying from inside the theater. The nurse peeped out through the door with happiness to inform us about the birth of a baby girl.

We all jumped out in joy. We all wanted a girl. I became maamu of an angel. Jiju and bhaiya were informed immediately sending waves of happiness to as far as Dubai and Pune. :) It was first of kind experience for me to stand witness to the birth of a baby. Jiju's brother-in-law was the first from our family to go inside and have a look at the beautiful girl. He brought her out of the theater and we all could have a look at her. The sight of the newborn mas mesmerizing. I held her in my arms and was very happy to feel her. There was a sense of fear that I don't harm her as I had never held any newborn earlier. So I gave her back to others with experience soon.

I was constantly worried for my sister in there. This was the 2nd caeserean section for her, first one for my handsome nephew Jaskirat Singh who is going to celebrate his second birthday on coming January 15th, 2016.

Mummy and auntyji took the baby to the room on first floor while we waited for successful conclusion of the case. After waiting for another half an hour, the sisters brought my didi out of the theater on a stretcher. She was partially unconscious at that time. Doctors and nurses confirmed successful completion of the entire task. We were all happy and relieved.

Later when everything settled down. every important person informed regarding the birth of baby girl, Manvi who was also born on December 30th, came with massiji and masadji along with a cake to celebrate the birth of 'younger Manvi' or 'Pari' as they all started calling her.
